Contemporary Art - Science - Urbanism - Digital Culture

The Embassy of Portugal/Camões Berlin has invited young Portuguese artists living in Germany to take part in a competition. They were asked to create a work that refers to freedom and democracy and illustrates what both mean to them and to their art.

The year 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution and the first general elections in Portugal. Against this backdrop, the exhibition of the prizewinners at the CLB reflects on how the artists of the youngest generation see these values, for which their grandparents, but not they themselves, fought.

With Bruno De Marco, Clara Bolota, Constança Viegas, Diogo da Cruz und Mathias Gramoso.

Curated by Guilherme Vilhena Martins.

The various works are united by the urgency of the defence of democracy and freedom, which are being called into question at this historic moment.
