Act 1 : TOUCH
In their first study Act 1 : TOUCH, that will be premiered at CLB Berlin, Company STEVE explores the human sense Touch. Accompanied by live music by the composer Stefano Ciardi and together with the voice artist Daniela Marcozzi, the dancers Sinja J. Völl and Annekatrin Kiesel move through tactile metaphors in a dynamic, poetic way. The piece swings in and out of our skin, transforming the gallery space into a place of gentle touches, violent clashes, vivid encounters and surprising recognition.

Company STEVE was founded in 2020 by the Berlin choreographer Verena Steffen. Since then the Company produced several contemporary dance pieces and dance installations for different performance formats, focusing mainly on people, their environment and the different ways of life. Recently, the company welcomed two new members: Daniela Marcozzi – dramaturge, voice artist and performer – and Stefano Ciardi – musician and composer – that now, together with Verena Steffen form the artistic direction of the company. THE YELLOW BOAT is the first piece created in this constellation.
