In a world that often feels disconnected, we invite you to pause and reflect on the vital role of sleep in our lives. Join us for “The Future of Sleep: Eye-closed Freedom,” an event presented by Future People Collective and Two Odd, transforming CLB into an interactive sanctuary dedicated to exploring sleep as a fundamental freedom.

This gathering confronts pressing issues surrounding sleep shortages and their cultural, physical, and emotional ramifications. By framing sleep as a community challenge, “The Future of Sleep” seeks to inspire hope, foster collaboration, and empower attendees to actively shape a more compassionate society. We will invite participants to embark on a sensory journey, highlighting the profound value of sleep through curated encounters that resonate deeply with our shared human experience.

What to expect:

Poetic Performance: Experience the beauty and significance of sleep through evocative poetry that speaks to its essence and importance in our lives.

Open Table Talk: Sleep as the Last Edge of Freedom: Engage in meaningful dialogue with a panel featuring a psychologist and researcher Jay Matthew, AI expert, Aadil Kumar and AI creative technologist, Tabitha Swanson. Together, we will navigate the evolution of sleep across centuries, addressing critical themes such as: Sleep as humanity 7 / The tension between sleep and technology / Sleep as a form of political resistance.

Curated Experience: Participate in activities designed to foster relaxation and connection, creating a communal space for reflection and rejuvenation.

Networking Opportunities: Connect with fellow attendees throughout the event, sharing insights and experiences that enrich our understanding of sleep’s role in our lives.

As Future People, we believe our narratives around culture and identity are woven into the fabric of our existence. In this spirit, we invite you to join us in exploring how individual and collective action can transform sleep into a powerful tool for liberation.
